Preview the 2010 football season at Blue Devil Stadium on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 7:00 pm.
A new season and the beginning of a new tradition!
The schedule is as follows:
- 6:50 - IHS Marching Band marches to the Stadium and performs Show 1 and "Stand Up and Cheer"
- 7:10 - Cheerleaders show their spirit as the football team conducts a scrimmage

July 15 Community Concert
IHS Music Boosters like to extend a warm thank you to the City of Independence for allowing us to sell refreshments during the Community Concert featuring the Wayne Tomsic Band. Thank you also goes out to our Chair, Elizabeth Jaszczak, helpers Anna Sarley and Eileen MacDowell, and bakers Michael Jaszczak, Laura Synek, Debra Cooper and Donna Belitz. It was a nice evening for music, dancing and socializing, and we managed to make some new friends and some money for the coffers.
Uniform Helpers
Thank you to Mrs. Janka, Mrs. Dolansky, Mrs. MacDowell and Mrs. Mroczynski for your help fitting and repairing the Marching Band uniforms for the season. The band will look great on the field thanks to your hard work.
Band Camp
Our marching band is sounding great and seems to have weathered the storm of away band camp. It makes us all look forward to the upcoming football season under the Friday night lights. Booster volunteers Krolikowski, Kula, Klindworth and Dolansky were busy garnering volunteers and members to sign up to join the organization, help with the various Home Days booths and Friday half-time refreshments. Thank you to all who helped, and thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time to make these events a huge success. Your support and volunteerism ensures a successful Booster organization and Music Department.
Photo Buttons
Thank you to Michael Jaszczak, Marian Martin, Mary Dolansky, Eileen MacDowell and Maureen Mroczynski for helping with the Photo Buttons. Photos for the buttons were taken on Band Photo Day and we will have many to print and make. It is our goal to have these available for parents/students to pick up at our first home game. Those with outstanding balances will be able to pay at pickup.
Home Days Fun & Fundraising
Huge thank yous go out to Kris Klindworth, Julie Scotton and Anna Sarley who, through their Herculean effort, found the many volunteers needed to staff all of our Music Department booths during Home Days. Thank you to everyone who pitched in during this event. It makes a lot of work a lot of fun with everyone involved in the Music Department. We're all in this together!
Fall Musical Scenery Help
Our fall musical, Oklahoma, will be held on Friday, November 12 and Saturday, November 13. Our master carpenter, Tom Harlan, has been having knee troubles and is in need of carpenters that can help build sets and scenery for the show. At times this is done during the school day and into the evening. If you have carpentry skills to help with this, even if it's just a few hours, please contact Meghan Campbell and she will give your information to Tom so he can give you a call.
